Believing in the Impossible

The brain needs help. It needs love and discipline and constant training through daily learning. The training involves writing, skill-development, and reading. Reading specifically tends to kill my procrastination. The internet seemed to kill books and now I’m going back to them like long-lost friends.

I’m climbing this mountain and I’m one of the few that will reach the summit. In my mind, this started as an impossible journey that became real. My resolve took me every step of the way.

Now I’m looking down and I’ve created more mountains to climb as I become the one percent. I’m working my way to discovering the one percent of one percent. Its like traversing through a worm-hole vortex that no one else knows exists. Yes, it is a worm-hole and it appeared simply because I believed.

Yes, I’m fully aware of how short my time is and what I need to do. It’s not hard because everything has become natural. I never give up. I take a break and catch my breath but I keep on keeping on. Here I am at the top of the world becoming the top of my game.

Writing Daily for Practice!

So I’ve been doing photography for 15 years, obsessively. I cannot claim to have been naturally talented with it. Quite the contrary. It took a lot of practice and being a geek with my passion. That’s what I tell people who are just starting out learning how to take better photographs. I’ve rubbed off on a few people who had no prior interest in photography but my enthusiasm encouraged them to develop their creativity. I’ve been hearing a lot about applying this same logic to writing daily to develop skill, etc.

So, I’ve revamped four blogs and started writing again. I’m utilizing the StudioPress Genesis Framework on my four WordPress installations and use Media Temple for my hosting. Yes, these blogs are self-hosted and I update the software regularly. I’m blogging as an experiment and to gain experience. Simply writing a few times a day will help me improve my ability to build rich content for my readers, if I actually get a few?

So I’ve got this little bit of curiosity about affiliate marketing and living a life of nonconformity. As a photographer, I’ve managed to live this lifestyle and survive up until now. As they say, I’ve never had the 9-5 job but I have managed to lead of life of outdoor adventure and travel, etc.

Like all things worthwhile, daily practice is essential to developing talents and honing skills down to a formula that works and gets better over time. Regarding the affiliate marketing and learning to write more creatively on a blog, I’ve stumbled across two resources that I may try pretty soon: Copyblogger & Wealthy Affiliate – But I won’t simply pull the trigger on these two learning resources until I learn a bit more about them both. I’ve learned to avoid MLM marketing and anything that has to do with a pyramid styled business.

On that final note, this isn’t about the money, or what may come financially. As a photographer, I am learning how to survive and monetize but I believe in serving others FIRST before doing anything else. I believe money or economic gain comes from building professional networks and helping real friends when they are in need, etc.

Copywriting, Blogging, Book-Publishing & Writing

Yes, ideas are busting out of my head left and right. It’s quite exciting. Either that, or I’m a fast learner. I’ve been reading up and scouring the web looking for information on copywriting, book publishing, creating value, and the art of writing. What I’m learning is so NEW that they are not even teaching it at the institutes for higher education. Seriously, even creative writing professors haven’t learned the value of the internet to producing content and building an audience.

So all this information is useful. The tools I need to get started are being dumped in my lap and I see no reason to follow the status quo with what I choose to write and do. Call this a hobby business for the moment, but it’s become infinitely clear that I was asleep at the wheel all these years, and I feel like Rip Van Winkle waking up from his 20 year nap. Where have I been with all this change taking place?

The world of the internet and blogging has completely changed from an elephant to a giraffe and I have all this new stuff to learn and master but it should be easy. Yes, I know exactly what I want to do for Desert Rat Executive!
